HOUSTON – A Houston woman has been charged with murder in connection to the death of a man on May 12 in south Houston.

When police arrived on the scene, Grims’ body was still under Mitchell’s vehicle.
According to the court documents, Mitchell told police that she was driving and went “blank” and could tell she hit something with her vehicle but then sped up until she got into the middle of the road where she came to a stop. Mitchell also claimed she blanked out from tiredness and that she heard something dragging under her vehicle.
According to court documents, Mitchell referred to Grims as a “bug-a-boo” and that he was always getting into with other people while she tried to remain a mediator.
Authorities recovered surveillance video which paints a different version of the story than what Mitchell initially told them.
According to police documents and surveillance video, around 4:16 a.m., Mitchell was seen breaking down her tent and packing up her vehicle. Shortly after, she assaulted Grims and chased him with her car, attempting to run him over. At 4:29 a.m., Grims was seen near the Chevron gas station, involved in a verbal altercation with several men. At 4:32 a.m., Mitchell drove towards the group at a high speed, causing Grims to flee. Mitchell exited her vehicle, assaulted Grims again, then ran him over with her car. The men tried to stop her, but she drove off, dragging Grims under her vehicle until she stopped on Cullen Boulevard.
